Florida PIRG Alerts Shoppers to Hidden Toy Hazards

Hazardous toys are still sold in stores across the country, despite a new law overhauling the nation’s product safety watchdog agency, according to the 23rd annual toy safety survey released today by the Florida Public Interest Research Group (Florida PIRG). The group also warned that the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is taking actions to delay one of the new law’s toxic toy protections indefinitely.

FDOT keeps insisting that the public would retain control over tolls because they would agree to lock in fifty years of toll hikes pegged to inflation. Control suggests the right to make changes. Our grandchildren won’t feel any more control over toll rates knowing that it was FDOT who signed away their rights decades earlier.

 Young voter turnout surged by at least 2.2 million votes over 2004 levels this election, according to new data released by the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement.
