With cases on the rise, Congress should pass the Medical Supply Transparency and Delivery Act, which would establish a system for distributing critical medical supplies to impacted areas.
COVID-19 cases continue to rage across the country, but our healthcare workers still don't have enough of the equipment that they need to protect themselves and care for their patients.
To make matters worse, rather than coordinating the supply chain and getting materials directly to areas in need, the federal government is funneling supplies to private companies. And in some cases suppliers are charging outrageous prices. The result is that states, local governments and hospitals are competing against each other over supplies, and healthcare workers aren't getting what they need to protect themselves and save lives.
